Biography: Kay Burley presents the breakfast show on Sky News.
In addition to her current role, she has a rich history in broadcasting, having also presented the Five News 5.30pm bulletin each weeknight during the summer of 2006.
Burley’s journey with Sky commenced in February 1988, a significant milestone being the launch of the Sky One Entertainment Channel in November 1988. Her involvement in this venture included the creation of her own documentary titled “The Satellite Revolution”.
Renowned for her extensive live television experience, Burley found herself on-air during pivotal moments such as the tragic events of the second plane hitting the World Trade Centre in New York.
Throughout her career, she has covered a plethora of breaking news stories, including the crash and subsequent relaunch of Concorde, the historic fall of the Berlin Wall, and the passing of Princess Margaret.
Beyond her adept handling of breaking news, Burley has also conducted interviews with a diverse range of notable figures from the realms of politics, sports, and entertainment.
In addition to her professional achievements, Burley takes pride in her role as a mother to Alexander, born in 1993. Notably, she has been recognized as The Most Desirable Woman for three consecutive years, a fact that brings her delight but perhaps some embarrassment to her son Alexander.
