Samira Ahmed, Sarah Hughes, Sky News

• Sky News won a pair of gongs at the 51st Monte Carlo Television Festival’s Golden Nymph Awards for the Best TV News Item – Battle for Zawiya and Best 24-Hour News Programme – Mubarak Steps Down.

• The Daily Mail is reporting Samira Ahmed stepped down from Channel 4 News after she was told her hair was too scruffy for TV.

Sources said she had been called into a room so bosses could point out on pictures of her what was wrong with her hair.

Channel 4 denies the allegation saying they struggled to see how her hair was any different to that of many of the other presenters used by the programme.

• Congratulations to Sky News presenter Sarah Hughes, who got married this afternoon. Sarah will return to Sky News in three weeks time as [[Sarah Hewson]].
