ITV has today announced that it will broadcast the French Open at Roland Garros until 2018, in a new rights deal.

The channel, which has held the rights to show the tennis Grand Slam tournament since 2012, will now continue its coverage from 2015 to 2018 under the agreement.

It will continue to broadcast comprehensive coverage each year, with a guaranteed minimum of 90 hours devoted to each tournament across its main channel and ITV4. The action will also be available on the ITV Player.

“We’re delighted to able to continue our association with this fantastic Grand Slam tournament and to bring, free to air to viewers, full coverage of a fortnight of elite level tennis from Paris for the next four years.” said Niall Sloane, ITV’s Director of Sport.

ITV’s French Open coverage of this year’s tournament is currently on air, presented by John Inverdale live from its studio base at Roland Garros.

Andy Murray’s semi-final match against Rafa Nadal is being shown today on the main ITV channel, with both singles Finals due to be broadcast there as well over the weekend.
