BT Sport has confirmed that its BT Sport Europe channel will be renamed ahead of the new football season.
The channel, which largely shows UEFA Champions League and Europa League football, will be known as BT Sport 3 from Thursday 4th August 2016.
The broadcaster will also be renaming its Ultra High Definition channel, BT Sport Ultra HD, to BT Sport 4K from the same date.
The new Premier League season gets underway on 13th August 2016 with BT Sport airing Manchester City’s home clash with Sunderland from 5.30pm.
BT will broadcast the majority of their Premier League games on Saturday evenings at 5.30pm, where the first two months will see teams who finished in the top four battle it out as well as games involving Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

Des Kelly – BT Sport’s pitchside reporter – has left the channel ahead of their rebrand as TNT Sport, according
