Hannah Thomas Peters

Sky News’ Climate Change Correspondent has announced she is leaving the channel.

Hannah Thomas-Peter – who joined Sky News 15 years ago – posted on X: “Personal news klaxon: I’m off to study climate policy @Cambridge_Uni – sad to say goodbye to the truly wonderful people @SkyNews but an exciting new chapter awaits!”

She joined Sky in 2009 as a politics producer before moving to New York in 2010. Hannah would remain there for nine years before taking on the role of Climate Change Correspondent in 2019.

Her colleagues posted messages of support with Ed Conway saying: “We will miss you! But good luck on what sounds like a truly fascinating next chapter.”

Dominic Waghorn added: “Congratulations, good luck, farewell! Absolute privilege working with you all these years.”

And Tom Heap – who fronted Sky’s Climate Show until it was cancelled recently – said: “A great loss to Sky… join the club! Hopefully this means we can have your wit, warmth and expertise on @BBCRareEarth!”

We wish Hannah all the best in her future endeavours!
