BBC Breakfast will broadcast from MediaCityUK from 10th April

BBC Breakfast will broadcast from its new home in MediaCityUK, Salford, for the first time on Tuesday 10 April 2012.

The morning news programme will continue to be presented by a team well known to the Breakfast audience, with Bill Turnbull, Susanna Reid, Louise Minchin and Charlie Stayt forming the main presenting line-up.

Business presenter Stephanie McGovern and sports presenters Sally Nugent and Mike Bushell will continue in their current roles in Salford, while Carol Kirkwood will continue to present Breakfast’s weather reports from London and locations across the UK.

Lead male presenter, Bill Turnbull, said: “I’m excited to be moving to a new studio, with the very best in technology in an innovative, light-filled new building. I’ve visited MediaCity several times already and its open-plan design and space make it much easier for people to mingle and exchange ideas. I’m looking forward to being a part of that.”

Susanna Reid, the new main female presenter added: “BBC Breakfast really connects with its audience. We have fantastic, loyal, interested and engaged viewers who keep in touch regularly. They respond to stories, they suggest stories and they are generous in sharing their own experiences so that everyone can benefit – which means the show is also very real.

“This is a very exciting time and I’m thrilled to be involved in this next stage of the programme’s development. I love working on the programme and I love the team I’m working with – it’s what gets me up in the morning.”
