Vicki Young is Deputy Political Editor at the BBC.
She took up that role in 2020 when John Pienaar left the BBC.
She has led BBC coverage into more than four general elections and occasionally serves as a relief presenter on the BBC News channel.
Vicki was born in England and graduated from Truro High School for Girls in 1988. During her senior years, she served as Head Girl at the school. She then attended New Hall, Cambridge.
Her career at the BBC began when she joined the One O’Clock News as a political correspondent. She was a correspondent for BBC Breakfast from 2008 to 2011.
Vicki is married to the journalist Rae Stewart whom she met in Westminster. They live with their children in London.
