Mark Longhurst

Mark Longhurst is a former news presenter on GB News.

Mark’s award-winning career has seen two Royal Television Society nominations for his reporting and studio work. In 1993 he was voted News Broadcaster of the Year in the BT regional press awards.

At TVam he covered the Gulf War as defence correspondent and undertook several assignments to Berlin and Moscow as communism collapsed across Europe. He was also a regular member of the presenting team and newsreader for Breakfast with Frost.

His commitment to broadcasting extended to having a TVam film crew join him and his wife Sue on honeymoon in the Seychelles for a holiday feature.

After TVam Mark covered the 1992 general election for ITN’s Channel Four Daily And then went on to co-anchor the BBC’s regional news programme South Today.

He also fronted a live consumer show for ITV’s Meridian television and presented on the BBC’s international channel BBC World before becoming Sky’s business correspondent.

Mark left Sky News in 2016 and joined ITV News West Country until October 2017.
