Julie Etchingham is a presenter of the ITV News at Ten.
Julie joined ITV to front the reformed News at Ten in December ’07, Her first News at Ten bulletin was on 14th January 2008. She co-presented ITN’s American Election coverage from New York in 2008. She co-presented The Royal Wedding on 29 April 2011 for ITV.
Julie also provides relief cover on the ITV News at 6.30.
Julie joined Sky News in February 2002 to anchor Sky News Sunrise – Sky News’ morning show from 6am to 10am – with co-presenter, [[Simon McCoy]]. Julie then presented such programmes as Sky News Today, then later The Sky Report. She also covered Vote 2005, Sky’s General Election UK programme with [[Adam Boulton]].
Julie received a BA Hons Degree in English from Newnham College, Cambridge. She went on to train as a journalist with BBC Midlands – presenting the evening edition of Midlands Today, as well as gaining valuable production, reporting and editing experience.
Her first break into network news came when she fronted BBC’s Newsround in 1994. In 1997 she presented two BBC holiday programmes – Holidays Out and Holiday ’97. She then went on to present and report for BBC Breakfast News and BBC News 24 as well as reporting for BBC Knowledge on their arts show Culture Fix.
