Sky News’ Joe Pike to join BBC Newsnight

Sky News political correspondent Joe Pike is joining BBC Newsnight.

He will join the programme in the summer as Insight and Investigations Editor.

Stewart Maclean, editor of Newsnight, said: “Joe’s an indefatigable journalist who’ll help Newsnight analyse events and hold power to account in Whitehall, the UK’s devolved parliaments and beyond.”

Joe – who is currently in Scotland reporting on the appointment of Humza Yousaf as new leader of the Scottish National Party – joined Sky News three years ago.

Before joining Sky, Joe reported on politics in Northern England and Scotland for ITV.

Joe said: “Thrilled to soon be joining the talented team at BBC Newsnight.

“Will miss brilliant colleagues at Sky News.”
