There was a funny moment on Afternoon Live today when weather presenter Louise Lear showed up to do her report with a ‘P’ plate on the back of her dress.

“I’m trained, so I’ve passed my test,” said Louise.

“But I do need you all to know, I am a beginner, so it could do wrong at anytime.”

The report, however, was cut short as there was a sound issue with Louise’s microphone.

The BBC switched weather providers on Tuesday, replacing the MetOffice with MeteoGroup.

This brought a new range of graphics, new 14-day forecast, new forecast features with more locations.

Weather presenters have been trained on how to use the new system ahead of appearing on TV.
