There are reports this evening, that BBC correspondent Alan Johnston has been kidnapped in Gaza city.

Palestinian security sources said “As he was being taken, the journalist threw a business card on the street that identified him as Alan Johnston of the BBC.”

“Four gunmen carried out the kidnapping, and Alan Johnston’s car was found abandoned near his Gaza City apartment”

Police found the lease of the rental car, which stated the vehicle was rented to the BBC.

The BBC declined to comment on the reports.

The TV Newsroom hopes for Alan’s safe return.
