Golf: Open Championship 2026 – Live TV Coverage on Sky Sports, Highlights on BBC Two

The 2026 Open Championship will take place this week (16–19 July) at the Royal Birkdale Golf Club in Merseyside.

It will be the 154th Open Championship, and the 11th Open held at the club.

American Scottie Scheffler will arrive as the reigning champion after lifting the Claret Jug at Royal Portrush Golf Club in County Antrim, Northern Ireland 12 months ago.

Scheffler will be challenged by World No. 2 Rory McIlroy, the 2014 Open champion, who returns looking to capture his second Claret Jug.

Royal Birkdale most recently hosted The Open in 2017, when Jordan Spieth captured the Claret Jug with a memorable three-shot victory.

All four days of the tournament will be shown live on Sky Sports Golf with nightly highlights on the BBC.

Over in the United States, NBC will be the primary broadcaster with over 20 hours of live coverage.

The first and second rounds will be shown live on Peacock and NBCSN from 1.30am, while the weekend’s coverage starts at 7.00am on NBC and Peacock. The USA Network will also air over 25 hours of live coverage.

NBC’s coverage will be fronted by Dan Hicks, Terry Gannon and Mike Tirico.
