Beth Rigby – Sky News’ Political Editor – is back on the airwaves this evening after serving her suspension for breaking COVID-19 rules.
Beth, correspondent Inzamam Rashid, and presenter Kay Burley were all suspended by Sky News in December 2020 for breaching COVID-19 rules by attending Kay Burley’s 60th birthday celebrations.
Kay is suspended for 6 months, while Beth and Inzamam were both given a 3 month suspension.
At the time of the offence, Sky News said: “Everyone at Sky News is expected to comply with the rules and the company takes breaches like this very seriously indeed.”
Beth’s first act upon returning today was covering the Prime Minister’s press conference on COVID-19.
