BBC Sport today debut its Rio Olympics 2016 trail.
The animated campaign, made by Passion Pictures, showcases a world of stunning forest stadiums inspired by host nation Rio’s Tijuca Forest and the vastly competitive and diverse animal kingdom.
Over the course of the trail the skills and strength of the athletes are brought to life by the host nation’s exotic animals that gradually transition to the human world, competing in Olympic events.
The soundtrack is provided by Brit artist Jamie N Commons who has adapted his new single ‘Not Gonna Break Me’ especially for the trail, along with developing the music for the BBC Olympics 2016 titles.
“For me it was important that my music captured the true spirit of the Games,” said Jamie.
“Reflecting athletes performing at the peak of their powers alongside the vibrancy that Rio is globally renowned for was not an easy task. But I hope those watching enjoy my work and see it as a fitting accompaniment to this stunning animation.”
Rio 2016 will be shown live across the BBC from 5th – 21st August 2016.
