Darren McCaffrey, Sky News’ Dublin correspondent, is leaving the news channel after nine years.
He is moving to Brussels to become Political Editor and co-Presenter at Euronews when it relaunches in September.
“From starting as a “guest getter” to becoming Dermot Murnaghan’s producer, general reporting to Political Correspondent and most recently Ireland Correspondent at Sky News has been a challenging, rewarding and fun place to work, with the best team in the business!,” said Darren.
“Really looking forward to joining Deborah Turness and her incredible Euronews team. Covering the biggest political stories from Brussels and across Europe. As well as working on a new nightly political programme Raw Politics.
But I’m around in Ireland for a bit longer. Helping to cover the small matter of a Papal visit to the Emerald Isle with David Blevins in August and probably a lot of Brexit twists and turns in between.”
Big loss for us at Sky. Cracking signing for @euronews – congrats Dazza! https://t.co/BoOsuKACnt
