Mark Chapman - BBC World Cup 2018

Mark Chapman – born October 11, 1973 – is a sports presenter on BBC Radio 5 Live and Match of the Day 2.

Chapman began his career in 1996 as the cricket correspondent for BBC North East radio.

He worked as a continuity announcer on BBC Television before joining Radio 1. Chapman later stated that he got the job as a continuity announcer because the BBC were specifically looking for somebody with a northern accent.

Chapman worked on Sara Cox’s Breakfast Show before taking up the role of sports newsreader and Mills’ sidekick on the Scott Mills Show on BBC Radio 1 in the afternoon. On 24 December 2009, Chapman made his final appearance on the Scott Mills Show, stating that he had enjoyed the past 10 years at Radio 1, but it was time to move on to a more serious commitment to sports presenting.

In February 2010, Chapman began a regular spot on BBC Radio 5 Live hosting a new Monday evening sports and discussion show from 19:00 to 22:30.

Chapman was apart of the BBC Sport team coverage the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
