New Sky News Programmes

Sky News Sunrise Special EU Referendum Result

Sky News has today announced two new programmes to debut this month.

The first, ‘Murnaghan’ presented by Dermot Murnaghan will hit the airways this Sunday, 9th January. The two-hour long programme, which replaces ‘Sunday with Adam Boulton’ will start at 10am and will broadcast every Sunday from the newly created studio in Sky’s Millbank offices. The programme will have a mixture of agenda-setting politics, business and sport with a focus on sharp interviewing and pithy opinion. As well as the traditional head-to-head interviews.

Dermot will continue to present Sky News Today but only from Monday to Wednesday. Colin Brazier will present from Thursday to Saturday.

From 17th January, Political Editor Adam Boulton and Royal Correspondent Sarah Hughes will present a new hour-long show called ‘Boulton & Co’. Named after the popular Sky News Blog, the programme will air from 1pm each weekday. The programme will feature forensic interviews and hard hitting debate on the day’s breaking news stories.

Head of Sky News, John Ryley, said: “These shows see two of Sky’s major talents in hugely exciting new programmes. They will reinvent traditional formats, engaging with viewers via social media, and capitalising on all the benefits of HD. They will not only be must sees for breaking news but controversial debate and expert analysis.”

Adam and Sarah will continue in their current roles as Political Editor and Royal Correspondent.

Also, Paul Harrison has been appointed Royal Correspondent and Sophy Ridge, News of the World reporter, will be joining as political correspondent, mainly on-air during Sunrise.
