ITV’s Lucy Owen joins BBC Wales

BBC Wales has announced today that ITV Wales news presenter Lucy Owen is to join BBC Wales Today.

Lucy, who started presenting the main news on ITV1 in 2005 will join Jamie Owen later this year.

Lucy said: “I’m very excited about returning to BBC Wales. I started my broadcasting career on Radio Wales so it feels as if I’m coming home.

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at ITV Wales but presenting Wales Today has to be one of the biggest jobs in Welsh broadcasting. I just couldn’t pass up the challenge of delivering the best in BBC Wales journalism and taking the programme forward.

“I’m also really excited about working alongside Rhodri and the X-Ray team.”
