Sky News announces changes to its newsgathering

Sky News has strengthened its newsgathering team with three key appointments.

Two new members of staff will join the forward planning desk from September. Kirsty Thomson joins Sky News from the ITV News Channel, where she is currently a senior producer. Clive Kerfoot, formerly news editor at Tyne Tees Television, has been freelancing at Sky since August and will formally take-up his role in September.

Kirsty and Clive will report to Head of Home News, Phil Wardman.

On the newsdesk Mark Evans, Deputy News Editor, has been promoted to Home News Editor, of which there are four at Sky, reporting to Head of Home News Phil Wardman. Mark has been at Sky News 18 months. Prior to joining Sky he worked on the newsdesk at the Daily Star.
