The National Football League (NFL) has announced it’s returning to London to host four games in 2019.

Two will be played at Tottenham’s new stadium and two at Wembley.

Spurs’ new 62,000-seat arena was in line to host the fixture between Seattle Seahawks and Oakland Raiders in October but has yet to open.

Wembley hosted three sell-out games in recent weeks including a record attendance of 85,870 as the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 24-18 last Sunday.

“London is the world’s sporting capital and hosting NFL matches here is fantastic for fans of American football in the UK as well as supporters from all over Europe,” said Sadiq Khan, The Mayor of London.

“The NFL brings huge benefits for our city and showcases London to millions of viewers overseas. We’ve staged some mouth-watering matches here and hope to host even more in the years to come as we demonstrate that London Is Open.”

29 out of the NFL’s 32 clubs have played in London with Carolina Panthers, Green Bay Packers and the Houston Texans yet to visit the UK.
