Dean Saunders – born 21 June 1964 – served as a pundit on the BBC’s Euro 2016 coverage.
He is a Welsh football manager and former professional footballer who played as a striker in a career which lasted from 1982 until 2001.
Saunders lives in Cheshire, where his closest neighbour was Gary Speed, his former international team mate. Following Speed’s death, Saunders described himself as ‘flabbergasted’ upon hearing the news.
He is married to Helen. His son Callum plays for Crewe Alexandra as a forward. He also has two daughters Danielle and Louisa.
