TV presenter Georgie Thompson has joined FOX Sports.

The former Sky Sports News and Sky Sports F1 presenter joins the network to front a new show called ‘Crowd Goes W!ld’.

Georgie quit Sky Sports F1 a year into the channel’s coverage of Formula One, where Georgie presented the F1 Show and third practice sessions during the 2012 season.

Various stories published around the time of her quitting said she had done so because “she didn’t like the male world of Formula 1”

Instead she claims the challenge of adapting from studio work to clocking up tens of thousands of air miles in a 20-race global sport was behind her choice to move on and look for a different challenge.

‘Crowd Goes W!ld’ is a new, original sports discussion and analysis program, which will be hosted by Regis Philbin from 19 August 2013.

Georgie will join Veteran Wall Street Journal sports columnist Jason Gay; professional tennis player turned comedian Michael Kosta; two-time Super Bowl Champion and four-time Pro Bowl defensive end Trevor Pryce; and Guyism.com personality and YouTube sensation Katie Nolan serving as social media correspondent.

“There are sports news shows, debate shows and shows that present a single point-of-view, but ‘Crowd Goes W!ld’ is aiming for a fresh approach,” said Executive Producer Michael Davies.

“’Crowd Goes W!ld’ is going to live in the moment, presenting multiple points of view, with the conversation often influenced by the audience through social interaction. Regis, Jason, Michael, Trevor, Georgie and Katie will embrace the freedom and spontaneity this free-flowing, less staid, format offers and I have no doubt fans will too.”

The hour-long programme will air live on weekdays from 5-6pm ET on FOX Sports 1,
America’s new sports channel launching on 17 August 2013.
