Sky News has appointed Sam Kiley as their new security editor. The former Middle East and Africa Bureau chief for The Times has joined the channel following his documentary and writing work. The newly created role will give viewers both insight and analysis on some of the most high profile stories, including terror threats at airports.
The Sky News Press Office say that
“As security issues remain at the heart of public interest and at the top of the Whitehall agenda, Sam will be drawing on his expertise and extensive contacts within the intelligence community to bring the latest security stories and developments to Sky News customers across all its platforms – on TV, online, on mobile and on radio.”
Some highlights that the new role will involve include:
- Cyber Attacks
- London 2012 Olympics
Sam has 20 years of experience in specialist journalism, covering British overseas conflicts, travelling to hotspots including Israel, Serbia, Sudan and Pakistan. He spent six month of down at the fronline in Helmand Provice, Afghanistan.
