Former Scottish footballers Ally McCoist and Graeme Souness have been recognised with an OBE in the King’s Birthday Honours list.

The pair, who was working ITV’s coverage of Germany v Scotland this evening, was congratulated by ITV Football presenters Mark Pougatch and Laura Woods.

Souness was handed an OBE for his football career and charity work. He swam across the English Channel raising more than £1m for the charity Debra UK last year.

McCoist’s OBE was for his contribution to football and broadcasting, after launching a career as a television pundit on shows like A Question of Sport after retiring from playing football.

Former Lioness Karen Carney, who will also be a part of ITV’s coverage of Euro 2024, has been handed an OBE for her career in football.
