Sky News will broadcast a special documentary this Friday entitled ‘Born Bankrupt’.

The half-hour programme, hosted by Sky News Business Presenter, [[Jeff Randall]], will investigate the level of the nation’s debt and its burden on future generations.

At a time of economic uncertainty, Jeff examines how children born today will shoulder the burden of re-paying the nation’s debt, whilst their parents and grandparents enjoy the benefits. Gaining insight from industry experts, Jeff questions whether babies born today will have the opportunity to attend university, purchase a house or afford retirement.

Jeff interviews the Director General of the Institute of Economic Affairs, Mark Littlewood, the Director of the Institute of Fiscal Studies, Paul Johnson and Director-General of the Saga Group, Dr. Ros Altmann.

“This programme sees Jeff Randall investigate the severity of the nation’s debt and its impact upon future generations,” said Chris Birkett, Executive Editor of Sky News.

“This is yet another hard-hitting documentary from Jeff which pulls no punches in assessing just how tough the current economic downturn is.”

The documentary, which airs on Sky News this Friday (24 August) at 7.30pm, will also be available on Sky Anytime and Sky News for iPad.
