Top of the Pops is back for a one-off Christmas Day special, bringing the greatest hits from the last 12 months to your TV screen.

The hour-long special, Presented by Radio 1 DJ’s Fearne Cotton and Reggie Yates, will have performances from The Wanted, Pixie Lott, Example, Professor Green and Emeli Sandé, Ed Sheeran, Olly Murs, Rizzle Kicks, The Vaccines, Will Young, and the winner of this year’s X Factor.

The programme, which begins at 2pm on Christmas day, will name this year’s Christmas Number 1 just before The Royal Christmas Message.

Reggie Yates said: “Hosting the yearly specials of Top Of The Pops with Fearne Cotton is one of the highlights of my year, it’s always such a thrill to present such a loved show.”

Fearne Cotton added: “I’m so happy Top Of The Pops is back for another Christmas special. It’s a wonderful tradition that I’m so proud to be part of. Great bands, live music and a sprinkling of fake snow thrown in to the mix! It’ll be lovely teaming up with my old mate Reggie Yates again too. See you Christmas Day!”

BBC Two will also air an affectionate tribute to Sir Jimmy Savile with archive footage of Top Of The Pops and rarely seen footage of ‘Clunk Click’.

Sir Jimmy Savile at the BBC: How’ About That Then? will air on Thursday 28th December, 7pm.
