The American star, best known for her role in the 1980s’ global TV hit Hart to Hart, is also an international speaker on wildlife preservation who doesn’t have any terrible phobias. She does however admit the fact she doesn’t quite know what to expect when she gets in the jungle is making her a “little anxious”.
“I have lived in Africa, slept in camps and been to jungles before, but with those trips you could go fully equipped to protect yourself,” she explains. “You could bring the necessary kit as you knew what you were up against.
She is unconcerned about the fact that she may not eat very much in the jungle. “This isn’t the first time I have been on a fast,” she points out. “The rain will be the biggest challenge. I hope I won’t get rained on.”
And being away from loved ones and her friends won’t be too problematic either. “I am an actress,” she says. “I am always in a situation where our lives are not conventional. My friends do not get twitchy if you are not on the phone all the time. They are friends who you can pick up the phone to after two years and go ‘let’s get together’.
