“But I have made the decision that no matter what happens, next year is going to be my last year on television. And I just want to say thank you to my NBA family. You guys have been great to me. My heart is full with joy and gratitude.”
The NBA has been negotiating its next media rights deals, which would begin in the 2025-26 season. It is thought that NBC will win the package currently shown on TNT.
Barkley played 16 seasons in the NBA, six for the 76ers, four years at the Suns, and finishing his career with the Houston Rockets.
Since 2000, Barkley has served as a studio analyst for TNT, joining the likes of Ernie Johnson, Kenny Smith and Shaquille O’Neal on Inside the NBA.
