Former Sky News presenter Sarah Hewson is to join TalkTV as Royal Editor.

“I’m absolutely delighted at this opportunity to work with TalkTV, and right from its inception,” Sarah said.

“The launch last night showed how it will be a bold and exciting new channel committed to delivering news with a fresh perspective.

“I have been reporting on the British Royal family for many years but I can barely remember such a busy time, especially in this Jubilee year. I think we’ll have plenty to talk about!”

Sarah’s primary role will be as a regular commentator on stories about the Royal family on the station’s flagship evening news and current affairs programme, The News Desk with Tom Newton Dunn.

Sarah has more than 20 years of experience presenting some of the biggest national and international news stories.

With a background as a Royal Correspondent, she anchored Sky’s coverage of two royal weddings, royal births, the Diamond Jubilee and the funeral of the Duke Of Edinburgh last year.

Scott Taunton, EVP, President of Broadcasting at News UK, added: “Sarah is the latest in a string of high profile hires for TalkTV. I’m delighted that she is joining the prime time schedule and bringing her gravitas and expertise to one of the hottest topics in national and international news.

“TalkTV will be a new voice for viewers who are interested in straight talking opinions and expert insight on news and current affairs. The channel has been designed for the streaming age and will be accessible on linear TV as well as via social and on-demand programming.”
