The Queen Dies BBC News

The funeral of HM Queen Elizabeth II will take place this Monday, 19th September 2022.

The BBC, ITV, Sky, GB News and TalkTV will have live coverage from first thing on Monday morning.

BBC

The BBC’s coverage will be fronted by Huw Edwards, Kirsty Young, Fergal Keane, David Dimbleby and Sophie Raworth.

Huw and Fergal will cover events from London while Kirsty and David will be in Windsor.

Sophie will be at Parliament Square and Anita Rani will be reporting from the Long Walk at Windsor. JJ Chalmers will be at Wellington Barracks.

The BBC’s coverage will air from 8am to 5pm on BBC One, BBC Two and iPlayer.

ITV

Tom Bradby and Julie Etchingham will broadcast ITV’s coverage from Windsor Castle at 9.30am.

Mary Nightingale will be based at Westminster Abbey and royal editor Chris Ship will be in London and Windsor.

Rageh Omaar will be with the armed forces at Wellington Barracks. Nina Hossain will be on the Long Walk in Windsor, and Charlene White will be with mourners in London.

ITV will simulcast the funeral coverage on all its main channels and five digital channels and hub.

Sky News

Kamali Melbourne will kick things off at 5.00am on Sky News with updates from Westminster Abbey before Kay Burley takes over at 7.00am.

Sky’s main coverage will start at 9.00am with Anna Botting in Westminster and Dermot Murnaghan at Windsor Castle.

Alastair Bruce will provide analysis throughout the day while Kay, Sarah-Jane Mee and Gillian Joseph report from the crowds in London and Windsor.

Jayne Secker will be live from Windsor Castle at 5.00pm, and Mark Austin will take over at 7.00pm from Buckingham Palace.

Jonathan Samuels will round up the day’s events from 9.00pm, before Anna Botting hosts News at Ten from Buckingham Palace.

Sky channels – Sky Showcase, Max, Art, Witness, Atlantic, Comedy, Documentaries, Crime, History, Nature, Sci-fi, Replay, Pick, Challenge, and all Sky Sports channel – will simulcast Sky News’ coverage from 10.30am to 1.30pm with some channels continuing through till 5pm.

GB News

Eamonn Holmes and Isabel Webster will host their Breakfast show from Buckingham Palace at 6am.

Alastair Stewart and Anne Diamond will then be joined by historian David Starkey.

Nigel Farage will be among the crowds in London, while Stephen Dixon reports from Windsor.

Mark Longhurst and Gloria De Piero will host throughout the afternoon, before Nigel Farage and Dan Wootton host evening programmes from Buckingham Palace.

TalkTV

TalkTV will provide rolling coverage of the funeral throughout the day. Piers Morgan will host a two-hour special Uncensored from 8-10pm.

Channel 4 News and 5 News

Channel 4 and 5 will not provide rolling coverage but will have news updates throughout the day. Channel 4 will be on air from 1.20pm with a 90-minute programme.

5 News gets underway at 5.00pm and will be extended by 15 minutes. Channel 4 News will be back at 7.00pm with their usual hour-long news programme.

ITV, Sky and GB News will have access to the BBC’s pooled video of the Queen’s funeral. The three networks will also suspend advertising on their channels.
