ITV and British Eurosport will bring viewers extensive live coverage of the 103rd Tour de France, which begins today at Mont-Saint-Michel in Normandy.

Britain’s two-time champion Chris Froome will be one of the favourites heading into the race but comes up against one of the toughest fields in the history of the Tour with two-time winner Alberto Contador, last year’s runner-up Nairo Quintana and Froome’s right-hand man last year Richie Porte, now of BMC racing, all among the peloton.

ITV’s coverage will be fronted by Gary Imlach, who will be joined by cycling legend Chris Boardman, commentators Ned Boulting and David Millar, and reporter Daniel Friebe for the 21-stage race which visits Andorra and Switzerland before ending at its traditional home, the Champs-Elysees in Paris, on Sunday 24 July.

This is the seventh time ITV4 has screened daily live coverage and extended highlights of the Tour, with a total of 70 hours of live cycling to be shown during the event.

This year’s Tour covers 3,535 kilometres and will visit the Alps and the Pyrenees, as well as the iconic Mont Ventoux in Provence, before finishing in Paris. Along with 23 hours of highlights, ITV4’s coverage will include live footage from La Course women’s race on the final day from Paris.

Live coverage will also be available via the Eurosport Player and on ITV Hub
