Scotland host Ireland in Six Nations this afternoon as the 2017 tournament gets under way at Murrayfield.

The nations met on the final weekend of the competition last season, with Ireland moving above the Scots in the table courtesy of their 35-25 victory at the Aviva Stadium.

Coverage starts at 2.00pm on BBC One and BBC One HD, where John Inverdale presents.

He’ll be joined in the studio by Keith Wood, Chris Paterson and Jeremy Guscott, while match commentary comes from Andrew Cotter and Andy Nicol.

Kick-off 2.25pm.

ITV will air England’s opener against France from 4.10pm this afternoon, as the champions begin their defence at Twickenham.

ITV will also broadcast the final fixture of the opening weekend when Wales travel to Italy on Sunday afternoon. Coverage starts at 2.00pm
