Germany and Mexico get their World Cup 2018 campaign underway this afternoon as they meet at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.
Reigning champions Die Mannschaft begin the defence of the title they won in Brazil four years ago here against El Tri, who have remarkably reached the last-16 stage of the past six World Cup tournaments.
Joachim Loew’s side qualified with characteristic efficiency, winning all 10 of their games, scoring 43 goals and conceding just four to finish 11 points clear of second-placed Northern Ireland.
Mexico finished top of the CONCACAF qualifying table, joining Costa Rica and Panama at the tournament ahead of Honduras, USA and Trinidad & Tobago.
Coverage starts at 3.30pm on BBC One and BBC One HD, where Gary Lineker will be joined in the studio by Rio Ferdinand and Alan Shearer.
Match commentary comes from Jonathan Pearce and Phil Neville.
