U.S. Election Results 2016 – Live TV Coverage on BBC, ITV, Sky News

Sky News US Election

Millions of Americans will vote today as the country decides who will be its next President – Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton or Republican Donald Trump.

It has been one of the most contentious presidential contests in living memory, with Clinton’s campaign proving controversial because of allegations of the use of a private email server while she was Secretary of State. Allegations have also been levelled against outspoken tycoon Trump, and while opinion polls have leaned in Clinton’s favour in recent weeks, it’s anyone’s guess who will win.

The BBC, ITV and Sky News will have live coverage throughout the night from America with Sky’s main election coverage starting at 10pm, ITV will be live from 10.40pm, while the BBC’s live programme begins at 11.15pm.

BBC – 11.15pm

Andrew Neil and Katty Kay will present from a studio overlooking Times Square, New York. They will be joined by Democratic and Republican election analysts to discuss the results as they come in.

Emily Maitlis will be there to keep track of the races in key states on a giant touchscreen as the votes are counted and Jeremy Vine will be analysing the exit polls with his virtual reality graphics.

BBC correspondents will be based at the key swing states to bring audiences the news from those election battlegrounds, while Jon Sopel and Laura Trevelyan will be reporting from within the party camps as Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton takes on Republican Donald Trump to become the 45th President of the United States.

ITV – 10.40pm

Tom Bradby presents ITV News’ special programme live from Washington, DC, while Julie Etchingham will be in New York speaking to the big names in American politics and society.

ITV News will also be live in Ohio, Florida and Nevada to hear from the communities this election has divided, and there will be expert analysis from a team of pollsters and Washington Correspondent Robert Moore, to make sense of the results as they happen.

Among the correspondents are Rageh Omaar, Penny Marshall, James Mates, Emma Murphy, Robert Peston, Martin Geissler and Debi Edward.

Sky – 10.00pm

Jeremy Thompson will anchor Clinton v Trump: America Decides from the studio in Times Square, Adam Boulton will be in Washington and Kay Burley will be travelling around New York City speaking to voters, campaigners and officials.

There will also be teams live in all the swing states that matter; Ohio, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Florida and Arizona. There the teams will talk to the voters who will decide the outcome, bringing the human stories behind the election to the fore.
