England get their Euro 2020 campaign underway this afternoon as they host Croatia at Wembley Stadium.

This opening Group D fixtures will be shown live on BBC One and BBC One HD.

This is, of course, a repeat of the famous World Cup semi-final from 2018, when Croatia broke English hearts and defeated Gareth Southgate’s men 2-1 after extra time in Moscow.

Kieran Trippier’s early free-kick put the Three Lions in dreamland, but Ivan Perisic equalised in the second half, before Mario Mandzukic sealed victory 11 minutes from the end of extra time.

Southgate will be hoping for a better outcome this time around, with further matches against Czech Republic and the old enemy Scotland still to come in a difficult group.

Croatia have reached the quarter-finals of the European Championship twice, most recently in 2008, and their World Cup final appearance will give the players – including talismanic captain Luka Modric – the belief that they can go even further in this tournament.

Gary Lineker will be live on BBC One and BBC One HD from 1.00pm, where he’ll be joined in the studio by Alan Shearer and Rio Ferdinand.

Match commentary comes from Guy Mowbray and Jermaine Jenas.

Kick-off 2.00pm.

ITV will show the other two Euro 2020 games today including Austria v North Macedonia from 4.15pm, and Netherlands v Ukraine at 7.10pm.
