England face Colombia this evening in the last 16 of World Cup 2018.

The match, staged at the Spartak Stadium in Moscow, where the winners of Group H play the runners-up from Group G, will be shown live on ITV.

Colombia started slowly, losing their first match 2-1 to Japan, but came back very strongly with successive wins over Poland and Senegal.

By contrast, Gareth Southgate’s England started their campaign well, beating Tunisia 2-1 and demolishing a poor Panama 6-1, before losing their final game 1-0 to Belgium on Thursday night.

The most memorable of the five meetings between these countries came 20 years ago during France ’98. Glenn Hoddle’s side needed a victory in Lens to qualify for the last 16, and first-half goals from Darren Anderton and David Beckham ensured they did just that.

The winners of this game will book a quarter-final meeting with either Sweden or Switzerland in Samara on Saturday afternoon.

Mark Pougatch will be live on ITV and ITV HD from 6.15pm.

The match will also be streamed live via the ITV Hub.
