Martin Tyler calls a non goal

There was a bizarre moment during Sky Sports’ live coverage of the Premier League clash between Chelsea v Liverpool at Stamford Bridge this afternoon.

Chelsea were awarded a free kick in the twentieth minute. Drogba took the free kick which went just wide, hit the net support bar and rolled across the back of the net.

The reaction of Liverpool keeper Reina, Drogba, and the Chelsea fans made many believe, including the commentators [[Martin Tyler]] and [[Gary Neville]] that the ball was in the back of the net thus giving Chelsea a one nil lead.

It seems only the graphics department at Sky Sports knew it wasn’t a goal as they didn’t alter the scorecard or playout the ‘goal bumper’ before the replay..
