The National Football League returns this week as the 2019 season gets underway at Soilder Field on Thursday evening.
Throughout the season, Sky will show every Thursday night, Sunday night and Monday night games live, alongside two Sunday evening games. The week’s schedule will be announced every Monday at 5.30pm.
As for week one, the action starts with the fierce rivalry between the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears. Coverage, fronted by NBC, will be live on Sky Sports Action from 1.20am (Fri morning).
On Sunday, Cleveland host the Tennessee Titans (6pm) and the Cowboys and Giants continue their NFC East rivalry in the late Sunday kick-off (9.25pm).
NBC’s Sunday Night Football sees the champion Patriots host the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1.20am. From this season, Sky will air NBC’s build up coverage from around 12.30am, where Mike Tirico, Rodney Harrison, Tony Dungy and Florio review the best of the day’s action and look ahead to SNF.
Week One concludes with a playoff-calibre match-up between the Houston Texans and New Orleans Saints, before Jon Gruden’s Oakland Raiders host the Denver Broncos in an AFC West match-up. Both matches, hosted by ESPN, will be shown on Sky Sports Action from 12.10am on Monday night.
Neil and co will be joined during the season by Seattle Super Bowl winner Cliff Avril, who will be with Sky in London. Former Titans quarterback Vince Young will make his debut with Sky Sports this year, while Will Blackmon, Takeo Spikes, Dallas Clark, Bucky Brooks and Brian Baldinger are back for more.
