The 2019 Formula One season gets underway this weekend (15-17 March) with the opening round at Albert Park, Melbourne, Australia.

Mercedes will be looking to steer one of their drivers to victory for the sixth year in succession.

Sebastian Vettel was victorious here last season, but it was Lewis Hamilton who went on to claim the title.

All five sessions – three rounds of practice, qualifying and the race – will be shown live on Sky Sports F1, while Channel 4 will have highlights of qualifying and the race.

4.45am – Live – Sky Sports F1 – 5am start time

Saturday 16 March 2019

Third Practice
2.45am – Live – Sky Sports F1 – 3am start time

12pm – Highlights – Channel 4

Sunday 17 March 2019

Race
3.30am – Live – Sky Sports F1 – 5.10am start time
2pm – Highlights – Channel 4

2019 coverage details

Sky will show all 21 races of the 2019 season exclusively live, with the exception of the British Grand Prix, which will also be shown live on Channel 4.

Sky’s coverage will be fronted by Rachel Brookes, Martin Brundle, Jenson Button, Karun Chandhok, David Croft, Anthony Davidson, Paul di Resta, Johnny Herbert, Damon Hill, Ted Kravitz, Simon Lazenby, Natalie Pinkham, Nico Rosberg.

Channel 4’s highlights programme will feature Steve Jones, David Coulthard, Mark Webber and Billy Monger.
