London Live – A new TV channel dedicated to news, entertainment and culture in the capital – will launch this evening.
The channel is a 24-hour network backed by the London Evening Standard and Independent owners Alexander Lebedev and his son Evgeny.
London Live won the OFCOM contract for the license in early 2013, beating off competitors including London8, LondonTV, Made in London and YourTV London.
The channel, which begins at 6.30pm this evening, will be available on Freeview channel 8, Sky channel 117 and Virgin Media channel 159.
