ITV will broadcast the World Cup 2018 Group G match between England and Belgium this evening.
These sides have been arguably the best of the tournament so far, scoring eight goals each and brushing aside both Tunisia and Panama to qualify with a game to spare.
Gareth Southgate and Roberto Martinez will both be hoping for a win here, though, to maintain momentum and send a message to any potential knockout-stage opponents.
England will hope to continue their good record against Belgium, having won 15 of the 21 meetings between the two sides, the last occasion being a 1-0 victory back in June 2012.
However, Gareth Southgate’s men have won only six games at the group stages since France 98, and will be looking to give England fans more hope that they can progress further in the tournament than in previous years.
The Three Lions will also be keen to improve on the fact that they haven’t progressed past the quarter-finals since Italia 1990.
Belgium also haven’t made it past the same stage since they finished fourth at the 1986 tournament in Mexico, when they were defeated 2-0 by Argentina in the semi-finals.
Two goals from Diego Maradona in that game meant that Belgium were still searching for an appearance in a World Cup final, something they have yet to do to this day, although their squad is regarded as one of the finest in the world.
The match will also be streamed live via the ITV Hub.
