Emma Crosby

Emma Crosby is a news presenter on Sky News.

Prior to this she worked as a relief presenter on the BBC News Channel and presented for CNN. She was also a presenter on GMTV, for 18 months from January 2009.

Crosby first joined Sky News Sunrise in June 2003, presenting the morning show, from 6am – 10am, alongside Simon McCoy. In 2007 she became Business Presenter.

She joined Sky in 2003 from CNBC Europe, where she presented European Market Wrap. She also had a stint as the European market reporter for CNBC US’ flagship breakfast show Squawk Box and presenting Wake Up Call live from New York.

Emma has reported live on three significant market crashes in June 2002, September 2002 and March 2003. She has also reported on how the global markets have coped with the outbreak of war, including the fluctuating price of gold and oil, as well as the slide of the dollar to historic lows against the euro.

She began her career as a freelance broadcast journalist at BBC News 24, followed by spells as a Broadcast Assistant for Channel Five News, a bulletin reader on Radio NewsDirect and LBC.

In September 1999 she joined The Money Channel as a reporter and newsreader, where she stayed for a year and a half before moving to London Tonight and Meridian Tonight as a freelance reporter.

Emma graduated from the University of Leeds, College of Ripon and York St. John, with a BA (hons) in Drama, Theatre, Film and Television, before taking a Post Graduate Diploma in Broadcast Journalism at the University of Cardiff. Educated at Park House School, and St. Bartholomew’s, both in Newbury, Emma retains strong ties with the area and regularly returns to visit her parents and school friends.

In her spare time Emma plays tennis, skis and recently took up horse riding.
