The 2024 Paris Olympics will take place from 24th July to 11 August 2024 with the Opening Ceremony scheduled for 26 July.

Paris is the main host city, with events held at 16 other cities spread across Metropolitan France, plus one subsite in Tahiti, French Polynesia.

Paris was awarded the Games on 13 September 2017. Having previously hosted in 1900 and 1924, Paris will become the second city ever to host the Summer Olympics three times (London).

TV Coverage

BBC

The BBC will broadcast live coverage across BBC One, BBC Two and the BBC iPlayer providing access to all 32 events at Paris 2024. There will also be nightly highlights programme to recap all the best bits.

It all starts with the Opening Ceremony on Friday evening at 5.45pm with Clare Balding presenting in the studio, and Hazel Irvine and Andrew Cotter commentating.

Live coverage commences at 8am on Saturday 27 July on BBC One.

From the BBC’s studio in central Paris, Jeanette Kwakye and JJ Chalmers are welcoming audiences each morning to the day’s events.

Hazel Irvine picks up proceedings at 1pm on BBC Two, before returning to BBC One at 2pm, after the News at One.

Evenings are looked after by Clare Balding and Gabby Logan, with Clare reporting live from the swimming events before Gabby takes the reigns at the athletics.

Highlights of the day’s events are expertly summarised by Mark Chapman and Isa Guha on Tonight at the Games from 10.40pm-midnight on BBC One.

Joining the BBC Sport presenters are: Beth Tweddle, Chris Hoy, Denise Lewis, Fred Sirieix, Jessica Ennis-Hill, Kate Richardson-Walsh, Katherine Grainger, Laura Kenny, Mark Foster, Michael Johnson, Nicola Adams, Rebecca Adlington and Tonia Couch.

Eurosport, discovery+

Eurosport will show the Olympic Games Paris 2024 across 47 markets in 19 languages on its platforms Max and discovery+ with television coverage on Eurosport’s channels.

Showcasing an unmatched 3,800 live hours, Max and discovery+ will stream all 329 medal events, the Opening and Closing ceremonies in HDR for viewers across Europe and multi-feed audio enabling users to select up to 20 languages.

Eurosport will also be the voice of Games with more than 400 commentators across its markets bringing coverage to life through the most passionate and insightful event commentary.

NBC, USA Network, Peacock

Viewers in the USA can catch Paris 2024 on NBCUniversal. NBC and Peacock will present live coverage of the Opening Ceremony on Friday 26 July beginning at 12pm ET.

Coverage will be hosted by NBC Olympics primetime host Mike Tirico alongside Grammy Award-winning artist Kelly Clarkson and Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback and two-time Super Bowl champion Peyton Manning.

Maria Taylor will be on the Team USA boat, and TODAY Show hosts Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb on a bridge along the route. Opening Ceremony reporters include Melissa Stark and Andrea Joyce, who will report from the red carpet.

With Paris six hours ahead of the United States’ eastern time zone, most of the action will take place in the mornings and afternoons but there will be special primetime programming with Mike Tirico hosting Primetime in Paris.

USA Network, E!, CNBC, and the GOLF Channel will present live action and programming throughout the Olympics too, featuring qualifying and medal rounds.
