BBC News presenter Sophie Raworth has pulled out of moderating the head-to-head debate between Rishi Sunak and Sir Keir Starmer.

BBC confirms party leader interviews with Nick Robinson

The BBC today confirmed their line up of party leader interviews with Nick Robinson.

They are:

Monday 10 June at 20:00 – Rishi Sunak, Conservative Party

Tuesday 11 June at 22:40 – Nigel Farage, Reform UK This interview has been postponed for logistical reasons and the BBC will announce a new date when confirmed.

Wednesday 12 June at 19:00 (BBC One and BBC One Scotland) – John Swinney, SNP

Wednesday 12 June at 19:00 (BBC One Wales) – Rhun ap Iorwerth, Plaid Cymru

Friday 14 June at 19.30 – Sir Keir Starmer, Labour Party

Tuesday 18 June at 22:40 – Adrian Ramsay, Green Party

Friday 28 June at 20:30 – Sir Ed Davey, Liberal Democrats

The BBC’s South America correspondent Ione Wells is back in the UK to cover the General Election as a political correspondent.

Now, where were we?.. Martine Croxall is back on the BBC News Channel

Look who’s back!.. Martine Croxall has returned to the BBC News Channel this morning after 14 months off air.

Croxall was one of five female journalists who failed to land a Chief Presenter role in March 2023 when the UK channel was merged with BBC World News and has not appeared on the channel until today.

Geeta Guru-Murthy, Kasia Madera and Annita McVeigh have since returned to the airwaves. Karin Giannone has yet to appear.

BBC News Channel to split feeds for Election coverage

UK viewers will get a dedicated feed from 9am-6pm to focus on Election coverage.

This will come from Studio E, while the World feed comes from Studio C.
