Barbara Serra has signed with Al Jazeera International. Barbara will report from the UK and Europe during the week and present for the channel on weekends.
Barbara, who left BskyB last week, joined Sky News in 2003 as a reporter and covered many news events for the channel, including the death of Pope John Paul II in April 2005.
Barbara joined the Five News team in July 2005 and presented the Five News evening bulletins and updates on Thursdays and Fridays as well as weekend bulletins.
Before joining Sky News, Barbara worked at the BBC, where she started as a researcher on Radio 4’s Today programme. She then moved to BBC London News, as a TV and radio reporter, and later to BBC Radio Five Live as one of their EuroNews presenters.
